How long does the egg donation cycle take from the moment of booking a donor in First Smile agency?
Assuming that the donor accepts, and passes all her screening successfully, the retrieval should take place 2 to 4 months later.
Do you have any restrictions on age, sex orientation, marital status, or religion of intended parents?
Absolutely not. First Smile believes that anybody who wishes to go through the egg donation process to build a family, is very determined and will make a wonderful parent.
Does First Smile work with international intended parents?
Yes, we have worked with intended parents from different European and Asian countries. We provide egg donation document translation to any language for an additional fee.
Does First Smile work with international donors?
First Smile database consists of donors residing in the USA only. We do work with donors from other countries, on a special case by case basis. Our team is experienced with international donations. We can look for a donor in any country, per your request. The location of the IVF procedure would depend on the origin of the donor, location of intended parents, and any restricting laws that apply.
I am interested in meeting my donor candidate in person before I commit, is it possible in First Smile?
It would be possible after you book your donor and the donor accepts. Certain fees apply upon donor booking and upon donor acceptance. See Egg Donation Fees and Services. We could also schedule a Skype virtual meeting between donor and IPs to avoid additional travel expenses.
If you would like additional information about your donor, before booking, we can assist you at no cost, including video of the donor.
What are the success rates when using a donor rather than using my own eggs?
According to CDC data from 2010 annual report, 55.8% of fresh transfers from egg donors result in live births, in comparison to percentage of fresh cycles resulting in live births from non-donor eggs in different age groups:
- 41.5% for patients less than 35 years old,
- 31.9% for patients 35-37 yrs old,
- 22.1% for patients 38-40 yrs old,
- 12.4% for patients 41-42 yrs old,
- 5.0% for patients 43-44 yrs old,
- 1.0% for patients over 44 yrs old.
So if you are, for example, in age group 41-42, by using an egg donor, your chances of giving live birth increase from 12.4% to 55.8%- a very significant difference!
